Hot off the griddle! There’s a new attraction at Seedy Saturday this year: cooking demonstrations! Three local chefs will show you how to turn your healthy harvest into delicious dinners.

At 11:30 am, Chef Gianfranco Mosca, who has recently moved from Rome to Victoria and opened the business Veritalia, will create a pasta dish using seasonal vegetables.

Then at 12:30, it’s the turn of Laura Moore, of Good for you Gourmet, Victoria’s first organic, whole-foods personal chef and catering company. Chef Laura will show you how to make tasty Local Greens & Veggie Saute, with garlic chili flax sauce, served over timbale of short grain brown rice, topped with gomasio.

And at 1:30, David Chambers, farmer at Madrona Farm (which hosts the Chef’s Survival event each year), will show us how to make Okinomiyaki, Japanese pancakes. These aren’t your everyday breakfast pancakes, but a savoury dish filled with eggy and vegetable goodness.

All demonstrations will be held in the exhibition area of Seedy Saturday, February 18th at the Victoria Conference Centre, so be sure to stop by and get some ideas of what to do with all those wonderful vegetables you are sure to grow this year.
