Have a Wild(er) Time in Your Garden

Want to make your garden more wildlife-friendly? Perhaps you’ve already stopped using pesticides and put out a water source, and are wondering what else you can do.

Brenda Beckwith will be speaking at this year’s Seedy Saturday about how to encourage wildlife in your garden through design. She’ll be looking at three wildlife-rich habitats: the meadow, the hedgerow, and the thicket – and show how you can incorporate their wildlife-friendly features into your garden, even if you’re only working with a corner of a small city lot.

So go wild, and do your bit to keep our bees, butterflies, birds and other animals happy!

Habitats of Home: creating home places in small spaces, February 16, 11:30 am at the Victoria Conference Centre, 720 Douglas Street, is included in your admission to Victoria’s Seedy Saturday on a first-come-first-get-the-seats basis. Seedy Saturday runs from 10 to 4, admission $7, free for the under-12s.
