In Need of Seed?

In Need of Seed?

A visit to Seedy Saturday, held at the Victoria Conference Centre on February 18th, can fix that little problem. You’ll find vegetable seeds, herb seeds, and flower seeds – everything you need to get that garden going.

There’ll be lots to choose from. More than 15 local exhibitors will be selling seeds between 10 am and 4 pm, and that’s in addition to the seed exchange itself.

Most of these seeds have been harvested locally, from plants that performed particularly well in our area – and that means they’re more likely to flourish in your garden. You’ll find that the person selling the seed is often the very person who grew it, so you can get first-hand information and expert advice along with each packet of seeds.

The seeds at Seedy Saturday are open pollinated, and most are either certified organic or grown according to organic principles. Oh, and there are sure to be lots of interesting heritage and heirloom varieties available.

Next problem: finding a bigger box to hold your seed packets.
