Bob and Verna Duncan grow oranges and lemons. In North Saanich. In fact, they grow more than thirty kinds of citrus.
If you’d like to add citrus fruit to your supply of home-grown food, Bob will be revealing his secrets at this year’s Seedy Saturday, February 18th at the Victoria Conference Centre. Bob’s talk “Growing Citrus in South Coastal BC”, at 12:45, will cover the varieties most likely to do well here and explain how to get them to produce their tasty treats.
I hope to be there, taking notes, because I already have a couple of indoor lemon trees that produce a small but steady crop of delicious, thin-skinned and very yummy lemons. But more than 30 varieties? And some that live outdoors all year round? I’m green with envy. Lime green, of course.
