The human kids, that is. Goats must stay home, though we will have live bees and chickens on site. Which should help keep kids of the two-legged sort entertained.
In fact, many of the exhibits are quite popular with young visitors: the Victoria Natural History Society’s beasts, birds, and bugs are always a big hit.
We’ve also extended the hours for the kids’ activity area this year. From 10 to 3 families can enjoy a quiet break in the reading corner, make their own garden books or seed bombs, or try their hands at some plant quizzes and games. (Why do kids get to have all the fun?)
The Seedy Cafe, open 11-2, will help keep everyone fueled, and there are lots of quiet corners and seating to have a little quiet time or enjoy your own snacks.
So, if you’ve been wondering whether to bring the kids, please do. We love kids! Or “gardener seedlings” as we prefer to call them.
