Thanks for a Great Seedy Saturday

Well, the 22nd Victoria Seedy Saturday has come and gone, and once again it was a hopping and buzzing place, with some 2000 happy gardeners milling around under one roof.

So first of all, we’d like to thank you – all the folks who turned out for our local ‘Rite of Spring’ to trade and buy seeds, hear talks, meet their friends and have a jolly old time.

And we’d like to thank the organizers – Pat McGuire and the planning group – as well as all the wonderful volunteers who turn out to help on the day.  It’s especially wonderful that so many of you come back to help year after year.

Then there are the exhibitors – 69 this year – and the speakers, whose fine products and accumulated knowledge make Seedy Saturday an event well worth attending.

And we can’t forget our sponsors, who donate cash, goods, and services that make it possible to keep the price of admission down to the same modest $7 that it has been for years.

Finally (yes, this is beginning to sound like an Academy Awards speech) thanks to the Victoria Conference Centre for once again providing such a great venue and Empress Hotel for creating the tasty Seedy Cafe.

We’re going to put our feet up for a day or two, catch up on our own gardening, and then start planning next year’s Seedy Saturday. Hope to see you there!
